Conundrum

paper, string, box fans, steel, mdf

"Death mask" like paper faces bounce around with varying degrees of livelihood, all being hushed by the dull roar of the fans... a veritable crowd of those influences whose judgment we trust or simply cannot seem to escape.  The cast paper creates seemingly solid forms, the fragility only being revealed by the consistent agitation.  All seemingly well aged portraits of various characters, from complete strangers through world famous idols, each represent people who impact our lives in one form or another.  Varying numbers of multiples of each face interspersed create a hierarchy amongst those who impact us greatest as well as alternative personas based on the surrounding faces and types of movement.  As we age, does our wall of influence shrink or grow?  Do these masks we attempt to dawn ultimately give way to truths of our own?
